Let’s get to why you’re really reading - here you have the Globetrotter Interview!
What is your most unforgettable meal eaten while traveling?
This is so tough, but I have to say my meal at Domenica inside of The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans was pretty memorable. I still dream of it. I had the carrot and beet pizza and roasted cauliflower with whipped goat cheese and sea salt. WOW. I have tried to replicate it with no such luck. Uchi in Austin would be a close second.
What’s in your carry-on bag?
Besides the essentials, I always have a Vogue or Porter Mag handy, my headphones, a spare battery pack for my phone with multiple chargers. And lip gloss and dry shampoo. I always carry a spare change of clothes, pj’s and my toothbrush. The airline lost my luggage once before and it traumatized me.
Name 3 items you don’t leave home without while traveling?
My curling iron, dry shampoo, and body moisturizer.
Of the places you’ve traveled, what is one place you wanted to stay forever and one place you couldn’t wait to leave?
San Fran has my heart and it literally breaks it into a million pieces when I leave. I could stay there forever, with Chicago being second. The one place I traveled to and couldn’t wait to leave was Odessa, Texas. I dreaded it every single time when I had to go there for work
What's your best travel tip/life hack?
Pill containers are the best organizers for jewelry, and rolling things versus folding creates more space and is my love language.
What’s in your camera bag?
Lens wipes, sunscreen, Chap stick, lint roller, scotch hem tape, journal, gum
Coolest hotel you’ve ever stayed in?
I loved The Madeline In Telluride. Was it the hippest? No. Was it the most posh? No. But I loved the views and loved having to ride the gondola into town. It was something that I never experienced before. I would love to stay there in the Winter season.
What is your most treasured souvenir?
I have these seashells from my time in Guam with my dad. I spent a whole summer there. It’s a fascinating place.
What’s your travel style? (do you give up comfort for fashion? Try to mix the two? Don’t care what you look like as long as you’re comfy?)
I tend to pick fashion over comfort but recently have tried to find balance between the two. Fall/Winter helps because I can pack leggings and boots and my oversized cape and still feel quite fashion forward. But that’s probably as casual as I get unless I am running around in my work out attire before or after spin, but I really hate that!
Best packing tip?
Def the one I shared before…rolling vs folding!!! Try it!
What’s your weirdest travel habit?
I don’t know that this is weird, but I am not a spontaneous traveler. I like having a plan and reservations.
What’s your longest trip with just a carry on?
Guam for a summer.
Which fictional character would you most like to have as a travel buddy?
Drew Baylor (Elizabethtown)
Selfie-stick or selfie-arm?
Arm. I have no idea how to even use the selfie stick! Ha.
Where you go for a relaxing vacation?
West Coast
Where you go for an adventure vacation?
East Coast
The place you most want to visit that you’ve never been?
Greece
What do you miss most while traveling?
My bathtub and heated walls!
